DIG Deeper: Trauma 101 for Volunteers
DIG Deeper is a 12-month series of workshops open to active DIG staff, volunteers, and committed monthly financial donors.
DETAILS
At DIG, we are working with families that have overcome crises of a wide variety. This can translate into unexpected behaviors and a range of emotions while helping clients choose and receive their home furnishings. This workshop is geared to help you, as a volunteer, be better informed and prepared in working with people of all backgrounds while taking the knowledge you learn into the world outside of our doors. Union County Children & Youth's Kathy Pino and Rebecca Imgrund will walk us through the science, purpose, and strategies to deliver trauma-informed care. All participants will receive a certificate of completion as well as handouts from the presenters for future reference. This workshop will be offered in a virtual format via Zoom (link to be sent after registration is submitted). This workshop is also open to DIG Referral Agencies, in addition to volunteers and monthly donors.
